The fly featured this month is "Phil's Fly".
Fishing conditions were very good during May. Clear days and frosty evenings. No rain was recorded during the month.
Many trout were caught mainly on Woolly Buggers, Nymphs and Midge patterns. A keen fisherman caught quite a few fish on the fly featured this month. It resembles a scud pattern which imitates a small shrimp. It's usually weighted heavily with lead wrapped around the shank of the hook beneath the dubbing material. It should be fished slowly near the bottom of the lake.
