The fly featured this month is the "Brown Nymph".
Dry conditions still prevail however 64 mm rain was recorded at Lake Yoolimba for May. Fishing has been very good with trout ranging in size from 500g to 2.2kg caught. All trout caught have been in excellent condition. The bigger fish are starting to move with the cooler weather.
The main flies used were Nymphs (various types). Woolly Buggers and Hammils Killers worked well from the boat. Late in the afternoon the tiny Midge pattern also had success.
