The fly featured this month is the "Mrs Simpson".

Reasonable rain fell during January, with 64 mm recorded. Fishing was quite good, but with the warmer days the fish moved into the deeper water. There was some surface activity but the flies that had the most success were Brown Woolly Buggers, Mrs Simpson and Black Nymphs.
