The fly that had the most success this month was the "black bead-head woolly bugger".
December 2003 has been very hot with temperatures to 35 degrees celsius. Rainfall for December has been minimal, although some parts of the region have recorded big falls. Water quality in our lakes is excellent.
With the warmer weather the fish live in the deeper parts of the lakes. The best fishing success has been achieved from the boat using a weighted fly. Trout up to 2 1/2 kg have been caught. The best flies have been nymphs and woolly buggers.
