April 2003: Green Bead-Head Woolly Bugger

Green Bead-Head Woolly Bugger
Woolly Bugger
Hook: 8 - 12
Head: Gold Bead
Body: Green Chenille & Grizzly Hackle
Tail: Green Marabou
In April 2003, the trout were very active during the Easter period. Even after the full moon the fish were feeding all day, with dusk being the peak period. The "green bead-head woolly bugger" was very effective during this month, with many fish being caught in a session. The woolly bugger is suggestive of a wide variety of food such as green damsel fly nymphs and small fish.

The conditions seem to be ideal for the trout at the moment at Uncle Billy's. The excellent water clarity and good rainfall in previous weeks has resulted in an abundance of food in Yoolimba such as aquatic insects, yabbies, and mosquito fish. There has also been large moth and midge hatches during the warmer afternoons.
